The Scottish Flood Forum, funded by the Scottish Government and working in partnership with SEPA, is a community based Scottish organisation established to support and represent those who are affected by or are at risk of flooding.

SFF LogoOur support involves establishing Community Flood groups and providing flood information, awareness, education and training to all parts of the private, voluntary and statutory sector to reduce the risk of, and to assist in the recovery of flooding.

Our strength lies in being an independent voice that represents the interests of people affected by flooding, with the Voluntary and Statutory sector.

The focus of our work is to work in partnership with Local Authorities, the voluntary sector (including faith communities) is to enable community groups to be equipped to deal with flood issues.

Paul Hendy head shotPaul Hendy, Project Manager for the Scottish Flood Forum, has a wealth of experience as a flood recovery consultant and advisor.

His background in working with the voluntary sector and flood affected communities means he has extensive experience to bring as project manager for the Scottish Flood Forum. His role is to focus on partnership working with Local Authorities, Community groups, the Voluntary sector and SEPA  for the next few years in developing an ongoing support network throughout Scotland where flood risk is an issue.

He believes that knowledge and training helps people understand and cope with the trauma and effects of flooding. This he seeks to do in working closely with community flood groups, sharing experience from his extensive knowledge to at risk or previously flooded communities.

This developing project also seeks to address the issues regarding vulnerability and flood resilience in communities.

Paul is based at the SEPA offices in Perth but spends much of his time visiting and working with local communities and groups.
