Huntly & Perth – Wed 28 July

23 Jul, 2010

The Scottish Flood Forum in partnership with the Macaulay Land Use Research Insitute will be continuing to conduct their flood warning survey in Huntly during the morning of Wednesday 28 July. This research continues on from the previous visit that occured on Wednesday 21 July.

The survey will be carried out in Huntly during the morning and is part of a larger European research project called ‘URFlood’ aimed at providing guidance on good practice in flood communication.

The Scottish Flood Forum with its expertise working with communities dealing with or ‘at risk’ from flooding is playing an integral part in helping Macauley complete the Huntly survey. A summary of the survey findings will be distributed in October.

After this the Scottish Flood Forum will move south and will be providing support to the Perth community.

Paul Hendy will be at the flood recovery centre in Fairfield Neighbourhood Centre, 2 Fairfield Avenue, Perth, PH1 2TF .

The recovery centre will be open for members of the public to drop in and receive flood information and support from the Scottish Flood Forum as well as Perth & Kinross Council and other organisations from 10am till 2pm.
